With the change of season, the appearance of our skin also changes, have you noticed? The environment has a lot to do with how it feels and looks. When it's hot and humid, skin can feel oily from excess moisture. When it's cold and dry, skin feels parched and thirsty for hydration. Not to mention other environmental stressors, such as air pollution, sun exposure, air conditioning, etc. Skin needs to adapt to the new climate conditions, but you can help it by using our tips.
1. Hydrate from the inside out
Fall weather can be unpredictable. Will it rain, shine, or be windy? One thing is for sure - your skin will need hydration! As the temperature and humidity levels gradually decrease, so does the moisture content in our skin. This can lead to unpleasant dryness and flaking of the skin. And as our skin gets drier and drier, it creates excess sebum to compensate. And this in turn leads to the appearance of imperfections.
To help your skin fight this, try drinking more water. Eat foods that also hydrate your skin - tomatoes, cucumbers, green leafy vegetables, citrus fruits. Invest in a good moisturizer and use it every morning and night!
2. SPF stays in the game!
You should apply SPF every day as it will prevent free radical damage that accelerates skin aging. Even when it's windy, snowy or rainy, you still need SPF as sunlight penetrates through cloudy skies and windows.
3. Avoid aggressive cosmetic procedures
In autumn, the skin is more vulnerable due to climate changes and lower temperatures. It's time to focus on light and nourishing treatments that will keep the skin healthy and radiant. Opt for a face mask that does not have harsh particles and very gently cleanses and nourishes the skin. A little tip - ours is exactly that ;).
4. Don't forget about your body
Skincare routines often revolve around your face, but don't forget about your body. The best time to apply body lotion is right after you get out of the shower. While your skin is still damp, apply a generous amount of body lotion to your skin.
5. Your lips need protection too
One of the first signs that many people experience when the seasons change is chapped lips. Keep a lip balm in your purse or pocket at all times and apply throughout the day. This will not only hydrate your lips, but it will also protect them.
