If you're worried that the years are flying by and by the time you turn 30, don't worry! The best things in your life are yet to come and these are the best years to shine. My thirtieth birthday is just a few days away, and on this occasion, I decided to share with you 30 things I've learned about my skin that it really needs.
On my way to creating MUSE Cosmetics, I learned a lot. I visited various exhibitions, read countless textbooks, books and scientific papers, tested all sorts of ingredients. I dare to say that I have gained a lot of experience in the field of cosmetics and I want to share it with you. No matter what age you are, I think you will find something useful here that will help you build a better skincare routine. Use my tips and tricks as a lesson.
Let's get started!
1. The importance of regular cleansing: I have found that cleansing the skin morning and night is key to preventing clogged pores. ❌ No wet wipes! Using gentle makeup removers prevents skin irritation and damage.
2. Hydration is vital: Don't underestimate the power of a good moisturizer, even for oily skin.❗️Hydration is key for acne-prone skin to reduce inflammation.
3. Sunscreen is a must every day, even on a cloudy day: Using sunscreen every day can prevent skin aging and damage from UV rays.
4. The importance of sleep: The quality and quantity of sleep significantly affect skin health. 😱 The best time to fall asleep is between 10 and 11 p.m. This is when the body recovers most fully.
5. Healthy eating also affects our skin: Food rich in antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins improves the appearance of the skin. 🥬 I always include salmon, spinach, parsley, seasonal fruits in my weekly menu.
6. Regular exfoliation: It helps remove dead skin cells and improves skin regeneration. 🧡 Using a detox face mask 2 times a week was a GAME CHANGER for me.
7. Refrain from touching your face: We've known since we were little that dirty hands carry bacteria, and putting them on our face can lead to acne. It's also a good idea to refrain from squeezing pimples, because if we do it incorrectly, it increases inflammation. If you don't touch it, it will go away faster, trust me. 😉
8. Using a serum: Serums with active ingredients like vitamin C and hyaluronic acid can have a profound effect on the health and appearance of the skin.
9. Don't overdo it: Using too much product can lead to aggravation of the skin and clogging of pores. 🤍 I apply cream and serum in a thin layer that is easily absorbed.
10. Stress affects the skin: Reducing stress and practicing meditation or yoga can improve the condition of the skin.
11. The importance of water: Drinking enough water every day helps hydrate the skin from the inside. 💦 I try to drink 1.8l.- 2l. of water per day.
12. Professional beauty treatments: Visits to a dermatologist or beautician can do wonders! Regular cleansing by a beautician is key to clean skin and the successful penetration of product ingredients into it.
13. Removing makeup before bed: Sleeping with makeup on can clog pores and lead to acne. 🔥 I never go to bed with makeup on, even if it's 5:00 AM.
14. Pay attention to product ingredients: I learned to read labels and avoid harmful ingredients like silicones, parabens, and sulfates. Some of these can be potentially carcinogenic.
15. Forget about the brand: Overpriced or very popular cosmetics are not always the best. The most important thing is the ingredients and their concentration in the product!
16. Pollution Protection: Using antioxidant products can protect the skin from harmful emissions.
17. Avoid heat damage: Limiting the use of hot water helps prevent drying out your skin. Try to wash your face with lukewarm water.
18. Understanding that skin changes over time: Accepting changes and adapting care as you age is important.
19. Take vitamins and supplements: Taking certain vitamins and minerals can support skin health. 💥 My top skin discovery is Zinc.
20. The Importance of Face Masks: Regular use of face masks can offer deep hydration and healing. 🧖🏼♀️ Weekly use of a mask is key in skin care.
21. Yes, acne and the first wrinkles can coexist: It is a myth that once you pass a certain age, your skin will change and will no longer be prone to acne. 🤌🏻 This requires comprehensive care: taking supplements such as zinc, drinking plenty of water, gentle natural products that do not contain skin-drying ingredients, reducing your intake of dairy and sugary products. Your skin will start to improve after the second week.
22. Balancing your skin's pH: Maintaining the right pH balance is important for healthy skin. 🌟 Choose products with an acidic pH. If you're not sure if they are, ask the seller.
23. Incorporating healthy habits: A healthy lifestyle, including regular physical activity, is key for your skin. 💧 Be sure to cleanse your skin before exercising and don't exercise with makeup on.
24. Avoiding diets that harm the skin: Certain foods can cause inflammation and acne; understanding which ones are has helped improve my skin - for me, it's dairy and sugar.
25. Makeup is a temporary solution: No matter what we say, everyone tries to “mask” their problems first, instead of solving them. Foundation is a quick fix, but when your skin is too oily or too dry, even that can’t help. And it often makes things worse because it clogs our pores. The right investment is in solving the problem, not in covering it up!
26. Soothing irritated skin: I learned how to soothe my skin when it's irritated or inflamed. 💆🏻♀️ I don't apply any products for 1-2 days and let my face rest, but I make sure to wash it twice a day.
27. The importance of lip care: Regular hydration and exfoliation of the lips are also important for overall skin health. 👄 I use a gentle lip scrub 1-2 times a week, a night mask every night before bed, and a day balm during the day.
28. At-Home Facelift: Regular use of a roller or gua sha really works and has an effect! Just be consistent.
29. Eye care: The area around the eyes is particularly sensitive and requires special products. 👁️ I don't use scented eye creams because perfumes irritate and cause allergic reactions for me.
30. Patience is key: I've learned that skin improvements take time and persistence, and that it's important not to expect immediate results from new products or routines. 💯 The results of facial cosmetics are visible at the earliest in the second month of use. Apply daily care and the positive change will not be long in coming!
